An Appeal court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, has acquitted former Adamawa governor, Bala Ngilari, who was sentenced to five years in prison by the State High Court four months ago.
The Appeal Court set aside the ruling of the state High Court on Thursday.
Justice Nathan Musa of the state High Court had in March, convicted Ngilari for violating due process in procurement of 25 units of vehicles during his tenure as governor.
But in rather controversial circumstances, Ngilari was released from prison and his whereabouts remained unknown.
