The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola finally made a u-turn from the planned 10th anniversary of progressive governance in Osun State scheduled for Friday, as he sent a congratulatory message to his successor in office, Adegboyega Oyetola on the occasion of his second year anniversary in office.
Recall that Aregbesola had fixed Friday, November 27, as the day to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of progressive governance in Osun State, which is the same day the Oyetola administration clocked two years in office. The development threatened to tear the All Progressives Congress in the state apart, with members taking sides with the governor and his predecessor.
But Aregbesola changed his mind at the last minute as he sent a congratulatory message to Oyetola.
The message sent via a letter he personally signed and made available to journalists on Friday, urged the governor to continue to make the welfare of the people his biggest concern.
He said: “I write to congratulate you on the second anniversary of your administration. Look back with pride and nostalgia the hard-fought battle of your election and the continuation of progressive administration in the State of Osun.”
