The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has detained the immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu over his alleged role in the $2.1bn arms procurement under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
It was gathered that Amosu had on Wednesday honoured EFCC’s invitation and had remained in custody since then.
It was also learnt that another military personnel was detained with him but the personnel’s identity is yet to be revealed.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed the EFCC to probe 18 top officers of the military comprising both retired and serving personnel on January 5, 2016 as part of the ongoing efforts to unravel the 2.1 billion arms scandal.
