Arsenal forward, Busayo Saka has been named Premier League Player of the Month after his scintillating form for the North London side in March.
Arsenal won all four of their league games in March, with an in-form Saka scoring three goals for Mikel Arteta’s side and claiming two assists.
His scintillating form saw him come out on top of the voting, ahead of teammate Leandro Trossard, who laid on five assists during the month, as well as Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister and Tyrone Mings of Aston Villa.
It was the first time ever Saka will win the award. He is the second Arsenal player claim the gong this season, after Martin Odegaard received the joint November/December award.
Saka becomes the 22nd Arsenal player to win the accolade, the most of any club in the history of the Premier League.
Arsenal has congratulated the 21-year-old star, who has played a key role in the gunners quest for Premier League glory this season.
Also, Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta, has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for the fourth time this season.
Arteta won the award after guiding the club to four wins from four games in the month of March, collecting the maximum 12 points from matches against Everton, Bournemouth, Fulham and Crystal Palace.
The gunners boss edged out fellow Spaniards, Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery, as well as Roberto De Zerbi to see him add to his triumphs in August, November/December and January.
It is his fourth win from five nominations this season.
He is now just one behind Jurgen Klopp’s record of five wins during a single season, which occurred during Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning season of 2019/20.
