Cable TV, Telcom Satelite TV (TStv), launched on Sunday and there is a lot of excitement especially on social media. Many Nigerians are happy to see the potential competition for Multichoice, operators of DSTV and GOTV.
As news of the launch broke on Sunday, many Nigerians became eager to buy the decoder but the cable TV took to its Twitter handle to warn eager subscribers not to fall for fraudsters.
TStv said it was yet to commence sales of decorders even though there is a list of possible places and dealers across the country.
They also warned that subscribers have not been requested to make “payments of any kind whatsoever for decoders”
The company said: “PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT. We wish to inform the general public that the commercial sale of TStv Africa decoders has not commenced and there is no request from TStv Africa to subscribers for payments of any kind whatsoever for decoders.
“The public is hereby advised to disregard any instructions from any person(s) to make payments.
