The President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Bishop Wale Oke, distributed 28,000 bags of 5kg rice over the weekend.
The gesture was part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Holy Ghost Convention of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and his 66th birthday.
The staple food was distributed to crowd of less privileged for two days at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Oke said the gesture was to put smiles on the faces of the needy and another way of touching lives to complement spiritual food dished from the pulpit.
President Muhammadu Buhari joined other well-wishers to celebrate Oke who is also the Chancellor, Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan.
The president noted the sacrifice, selflessness, and dedication of the Christian leader, pointing out that he has influenced many lives positively through his charismatic leadership.
Buhari, in a letter to the cleric, prayed for his well-being and that of his family and all Christians across Nigeria.
Vice President Yemi Osibajo also eulogized Oke, describing him as an exemplary leader with sterling qualities.
Osinbajo, who was represented by the chaplain to the Vice President, Pastor Seyi Malomo, prayed God to continue to strengthen Oke and move him from glory to glory.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who was represented by his wife, Tamunominini, congratulated the man of God whom she described as being dear to her heart. She prayed for long life and continued success in his calling.
In his message, Oke stressed the need for Christians to know the children of whom they are.
“Those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits. The Almighty God who is your father is the King of Glory.He is a warrior. He fights to win and He has never lost a battle. When He determines to do anything, no gates, no host either in heaven, on earth or underneath the earth can hinder or stop Him,” he said.
The cleric urged participants to stop blaming their woes on Satan.
“Rather look inward and improve on the quality of your relationship with God,” the PFN president said.
In his own message, German Evangelist Ekkehard Hornburg, said: “The end of this age is coming near and nobody on earth will escape it. It is either you are raptured or not. “
In attendance at the night of Worship and Miracle were the celebrant’s wife, Revd (Dr.) Mrs Tokunbo Oke, key music ministers including Panam Percy Paul, Sinach, Nathaniel Bassey, Yomi Ajayi and Ada Ehi.
