A Saudi Arabian woman who was gang raped has been sentenced to six months in jail and 200 lashes.
The punishment comes because she disobeyed the Sharia Law which stipulates that a Saudi Arabian woman must be accompanied by a male guardian at all times in public.
The 19-year-old woman had gone to meet a student friend alone, while in a car with a student friend, retrieving a picture, two men got into the vehicle and drove them to a secluded area. She said she was raped there by seven men, three of whom also attacked her friend.
She had been sentenced to only 90 lashes but it was increased to 200 as further punishment for talking to the press and getting a lawyer to speak out on her behalf.
