The Bola Ige Center for justice has said arrangement has been concluded to hold the 19th Bola Ige memorial symposium, on Thursday, December 17, 2020.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Executive President of the center, Comrade Awa Bamiji, said this year’s event will hold at Osun Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State, by 11am prompt.
Awa said participants at the symposium are majorly youth and student leaders from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
The symposium with the theme: “19th year after Bola Ige: Assessment of Security Situation in Nigeria,”will have Mr Ade Ajakaiye, former AIG Zone 6, Calabar, who also served as ADC to Chief Bola Ige, alongside Comrade Mashood Erubami, Convener, Voters’ Assembly as discussants.
“Senator Biyi Durojaiye, a prominent June 12 activist from Ogun State will chair the symposium, while Prof. Wole Soyinka is the guest of honour.
“The chief host is Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State. The National Leader of All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the special guest of honour while guest of honour is Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State.
“Father and Mother of the day are Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chairman, Governor’s Advisory Council of APC, Lagos State, and a renowned Professor, Mrs Bolanle Awe.
“Principal hosts are very close associates and friends of late Chief Bola Ige
“The late Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation’s children, Mrs Funso Adegbola and Arc. Muyiwa Ige are the hosts of the event,” the president said.
According to Awa, “the lecture will be held with strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocols, which implies ‘No face mask, no entry.”
