Britain’s Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, has revealed he was mistaken for US President, Donald Trump, in Newcastle.
He said this on Tuesday in parliament while defending Trump’s planned state visit to London.
He said: “I am embarrassed to say that I was mistaken for Mr Trump in—I think—Newcastle, which rather took me aback.
“It also happened in New York, which was a very humbling experience for me.”
Mr Johnson said the state visit would go ahead now the invite had been issued.
He said: ‘It is a wholly appropriate thing for the British Government to do, and it will be a great success.’
