The Kogi state government has given a breakdown of how it disbursed the N20billion bailout funds it got from the Federal Government.
In an advertorial published in Nigerian Tribune on Friday, the government said the state government and the local governments as a whole got N10billion each.
It added that the N10billion released to the state government “was fully utilized for payment of salary arrears for public servants and allowances for state pensioners”.
The breakdown of how the state government’s N10bn went is as follows:
- Salaries of Judiciary and state owned terriary institutions for January to April 2016 – N3.1bn
- Salaries for state civil servants and state pensioners for January to April 2016 – N2bn
- Salaries and arrears of additional cleared civil servants and pensioners as at June 2016 – N2bn
- Salaries and arrears of additional cleared civil servants and pensioners as at July 2016 – N2bn
- Salaries and arrears of addional cleared civil servants and pensioners as at August 2016 – N900m
