Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, has tested positive for coronavirus.
Akeredolu disclosed this in a video he posted on his verified Twitter handle.
In the video, the governor said he had malaria few days agoand was treated. He added that at the time the All Progressives Congress (APC) had its National Executive Committee(NEC) meeting last Thursday, one of his colleagues called him and told him that malaria should not be treated lightly, and that he should have a COVID-19 test.
Akeredolu said the result came out on Tuesday, June 30, confirming that he was positive.
The governor said that he is asymptomatic.
” I am not feeling sick neither am I feeling odd in anyway but my doctors have decided that I should take the normal treatment and self-isolate. I believe that supervised home management will be ideal for me for now,” Akeredolu said.
He said he was talking from his isolation room and assured residents of the state that he will continue to work from there.
