Nkem Okeke, the Deputy governor of Anambra State, Nkem Okeke, has dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Okeke announced his defection at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, while being presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the governors of Yobe and Imo States, Mai Mala Buni and Hope Uzodinma.
The deputy governor’s defection comes barely a month to the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State.
Okeke served as Commissioner for Economic Planning, and Commissioner for Works and Transport during the administration of former Governor Peter Obi.
APGA has been the ruling party in the state since 2006.
