The Court of Appeal today dismissed the EFCC’s application for injunction to restrain Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose from operating his bank accounts with Zenith bank.
In dismissing the appeal, the court said “EFCC did not come with clean hands on the application for injunction it filed because it SUPPRESSED MATERIAL FACTS, for example that a similar application the EFCC filed was earlier refused by Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Ado Ekiti.”
The EFCC sought the injunction of the court following the unfreezing of the account by the Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The Federal High Court, presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo had earlier granted the governor leave to operate the account. This was after it was initially frozen based on a request by the EFCC.
