Repors have it that Boko Haram insurgents have attacked Makalama, a village under Gatamwarwa ward in Chibok Local Government area of Borno state.
The attack occured on Sunday evening. Makalama is about 21 kilometres away from Chibok town where the insurgents kidnapped over 200 school girls in 2014.
Today’s attack comes barely two months after the insurgents attacked Mifa, another Chibok village, killing the village head.
“They came in this night through the nearby deserted Gogumdi village,” TheCable quotes a resident as saying.
“They started shooting and people have been running to the bushes. Our troops here at 117 task force battalion are getting set to move in now,” he added.
