Donald Trump has reached the number of delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination for president.
Trump needed 1,237 delegates to emerge nominee but he now has 1,238.
Associated Press reports that new unbound delegates said on Thursday that they were supporting Trump. The delegates are from North Dakota, Colorado and Pennsylvania, NBC reports.
With 303 delegates at stake on June 7, Trump will easily pad his total, avoiding a contested convention.
