Former Minister of State for Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, who returned to Nigeria from the United States on Saturday, has been detained by the EFCC.
The agency had put the former minister on wanted list over his alleged involvement in the armsgate for which former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki is being prosecuted by the Federal Government.
As at the time of filing this report, Obanikoro is still in EFCC custody and the agency said in a statement that “the former minister is still telling the operatives of the Commission his involvement in the armsgate”.
Obanikoro, also a former ambassador to Ghana, left Nigeria for the US immediately after the 2015 elections.
Reports said Obanikoro left the US for the United Kingdom last week, first traveling to the Netherlands. He then reportedly arrived in Lagos on Saturday evening.
