A former executive director of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and zonal women leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Kemi Nelson, is dead.
Nelson, the only female member of Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council, died on Sunday afternoon, according to a family source.
It was learnt that Nelson, 66, had been treating undisclosed ailments at different hospitals for a while.
She was appointed NSITF executive director by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, a position she held until May 2021.
She was born on February 9, 1956, and Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ijebu Ode for her secondary education.For her tertiary education, she attended school of Nursing at University College Hospital, Ibadan where she qualified as a registered Nurse and Midwife. She got an MBA in Financial Management and a Diploma in Law from the Lagos State University.
She is known for her low cut hair style and her unique headgear.
