Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fani-Kayode was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, by the Chairman, APC National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, at a brief ceremony on Thursday.
Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle was also in attendance.
Speaking, Fani-Kayode said he was instrumental to the defection of three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors to APC.
The former PDP Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson, who said he had been a founding member of the APC, added that he returned to the ruling party for the unity of the country.
He disclosed that he is currently wooing the Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo); Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi(Enugu) to also join the APC.
Fani-Kayode left APC in 2014, citing irreconcilable differences.
After leaving the ruling party, Fani-Kayode became very critical of the party and the Buhari administration.
Two years ago when there were reports that he had returned to APC, Fani-Kayode said he would rather die than do so.
“I am committed to opposing the APC and those that are in their ranks for the rest of my natural life and I will never join them no matter what!” he had said at the time.
