Former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Chief Sunday Adewusi, is dead.
He died on Tuesday at the age of 79 years.
Details of his death were still sketchy as at the time of publishing this story.
Adewusi was the IGP between 1981 and 1983 during the administration of Alhaji Shehu Shagari.
A native of Ogbomoso, Adewusi was the Asiwaju of Ogbomoso land until his death.
He was born on December 6, 1936.
In a condolence message, former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, said
Pa Adewusi would be remembered for his love for Ogbomosoland in particular and his patriotic zeal for Nigeria, his fatherland.
“Today, I mourn a great icon and mentor but celebrate a pious Christian, lover of God and humanity, a lover of noble virtues and a prayer warrior.” The statement read in part.
