A former commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, has won the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
He polled 888 votes to beat incumbent deputy governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi and Eddy Olafeso who garnered 657 and 175 votes respectively.
Others are Bode Ayorinde (95 votes), Ben Okunomo (90 votes), Boluwaji Kunlere (33 votes), Sola Ebiseni (29 votes) and Eruwa Godday who polled 14 votes.
Jegede was the candidate of the party in 2016. He lost to the incumbent, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The latter had also picked the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday. They will square up again in the October 10 governorship election.
