Barcelona have confirmed Neymar asked to leave for Paris Saint-Germain today and demand his full £196million buy-out clause.
The Spanish giants revealed all in a statement last on Wednesday morning.
It read: “Neymar, accompanied by his father and agent, communicated to Barcelona this morning his decision to leave the club in a meeting at the club’s offices.
“Against this position, the club have referred to the player’s buy-out clause, which since July 1 has been €222m (£196m) and must be paid in full.
“Meanwhile, in reponse to the demand for the bonus for last year’s contract renewal, the club have reiterated that it’s been left with a notary until the situation is resolved.
“The player still has a contract with Barcelona, but had permission to not take part in this morning’s training session.
“There will be a comment from club spokesman Josep Vives soon.”
The Brazilian star was given permission on Wednesday morning to join PSG, as he said his goodbyes to team-mates.
An official Barcelona statement read: “Neymar has told the dressing room that he is leaving the club.
“The manager has given Neymar permission to miss training and resolves his future.”
His world record £196m move to PSG is expected to be completed before the end of the week.
