The National Judicial Council has started its much anticipated emergency meeting in Abuja, and reports have it that both the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, and the acting CJN, Tanko Mohammed, were barred from the meeting.
Recall that the council fixed the meeting to deliberate on the controversial suspension of Justice Onnoghen as CJN by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The President of the Court of Appeal is presiding over the meeting, Newtelegraph reports.
The most Senior Justice after Muhammad is Justice Bode Rhodes -Vivour but he is not a member of the council, hence the nomination of Bulkachuwa by members of the council to preside.
