The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees ( BoT), Senator Walid Jibrin, has resigned from his position.
Jibrin announced his resignation at the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, held at the opposition PDP national secretariat in Abuja, on Thursday.
“I am stepping down as the chairman of BoT. I am stepping down to make it easier for all of us,” Jibrin said.
His resignation comes amid agitation for more southern leaders to be reflected in the party’s hierarchy ahead of the 2023 general elections.
