Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has announced principal officers of the 10th House.
Abbas made the announcement at Tuesday’s plenary.
The Speaker announced Prof Julius Ihonvbere, representing Owan Federal Constituency as the House Majority Leader.
Usman Bello Kumo representing Akko Federal Constituency of Gombe State was named the Chief Whip while Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State was named Deputy Majority Leader.
Adewumi Onanuga, a second term lawmaker representing Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency of Ogun State, emerged as Deputy Majority Whip.
In the same vein, Kingsley Chinda, an ally of the immediate past governor of Rivers State and lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency was named House Minority Leader.
Ali Isa representing the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency of Gombe State is the Minority Whip while Aliyu Sani Madaki representing Dala Federal Constituency in Kano State emerged Deputy Minority Leader.
George Ozodinobi representing Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency in Anambra State was named Deputy Minority Whip.
The Speaker had at the opening of the planet notified the members of communications from the respective caucuses in which they have nominated majority and majority leaders.
Abbas also noted that the nominations, which were endorsed with signatures of members of the respective caucuses, could be verified with the Clerk to the House, Dr Yahaya Danzaria.
