President Muhammadu Buhari replaced the Economic Management Team led by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and has constituted an Economic Advisory Council (EAC) which will advise him on the economy and policy matters, including fiscal analysis, economic growth and a range of internal and global economic issues working with the relevant cabinet members and heads of monetary and fiscal agencies.
A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is a member of the newly constituted EAC.

A satement by Special Adviser to the President on Meeia and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said the EAC will be reporting directly to the President.
He added that the council will have monthly technical sessions as well as scheduled quarterly meetings with the President. “The Chairman may, however, request for unscheduled meetings if the need arises,” Adesina explained.
