Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/ South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on Friday, Children’s Day, gave out desktop and laptop computers as prizes for a quiz and debate competition he organised for schools within his constituency.
Twenty-seven public and private primary and secondary schools were represented at the event held at the Emmanuel Alayande Hall, Ibadan Grammar School. The participants, numbering more than 50 all went home with prizes including laptops, books, school bags and stationeries, apart from the trophies and computers going directly to the schools.

He said that “a lot of the talents were discovered today and they need to be encouraged because they can do greater things”.
“It is all about contributing to the development of education as well as the development of our future leaders. And I am really impressed with what I saw today. It shows that the future is bright and I am encouraged to do more. At least I made sure I personally monitored everything from the preliminary stage to the finale, to ensure that no one was cheated. So, there is more to come through the Omo Oloore Educational Support scheme”“Having it on Children’s Day is not coincidental at all. It was planned that way and by the grace of God, we’ ll make it a yearly event”
