Civil servants in Oyo state have embarked on indefinite strike to protest non-payment of salaries by the state government since Febraury, 2015. It was also in compliance wit ha directive issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) at the national levy, that workers in states owing salaries, go on strike to press home their demands.
The Oyo State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) has also joined the strike action, embarking on partial broadcasting activities, only working between 6:00 am and 10:00 am, and 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
This according to the management will continue until normalcy return to the state in terms of state government paying all the salaries it is owing the civil servants as well as availability of fuel.
