Civil Societies honour Tinubu with Grand Commander of African Politics award

All is now set for  the conferment of the Grand Commander of African Politics award on the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, by the Coalition for a Better Nigeria, a body of youths’ and students’ organisations within and outside Nigeria

In a statement by its National Coordinator, Comrade Awa Bamiji, the group said Tinubu would be conferred with the award on February 14, 2023.

He said the event will hold at the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council Headquarters, Opposite Bank of Industry, Wuse, Abuja, by 11am.

Awa said the occasion will also serve as the 30th anniversary of the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, adding that only 1000 people are expected to sit inside the hall, while millions of other people across the globe should watch the live coverage on TVC.

Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, is the chairman of the occasion, while Governors Abdullahi Ganduje and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Kano and Lagos States respectively arw the guest speakers.

According to Awa, the guest speakers will deliver a lecture, titled, ‘Remembering Lagos Security, Economy, and Human And Physical Capacity Developments: Vote TINUBU secure future, do otherwise embrace failure.’

“President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), is Chief Host while Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu and Mr Simon Lalong, National Chairman, All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and Executive Governor of Plateau State, who doubles as Director-General, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council respectively, are the Hosts.

“The Special Guest of Honour is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu while All members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and All APC presidential aspirants are Guests of Honour.

“The following former governors and close associates of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mr Raji Fashola (SAN), Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola are Fathers of the Day while Mothers of the Day are the present and  incoming by first and second ladies in Nigeria, Dr (Mrs) Aisha Buhari, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, Senator Remi Tinubu and Hajia Nana Shettima,” he added.

Awa noted that the historic event promises to parade progressive leaders, youths, students, labour leaders, professionals from all walks of life, market men and women, artisans among others.

He assured that maximum security is guaranteed throughout the three-day event.
