Crowds of residents gave President Goodluck Jonathan a cold reception when he visited the ancient town of Oyo, Oyo State Saturday afternoon.
For the one hour that traffic on the highway in the town was halted in honour of the president, frustrated and dissatisfied residents shouted: “Sai Buhari, Sai Buhari, Sai Buhari'” to register their grievance and express their preference.
Jonathan visited the Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 and addressed party faithful briefly before leaving the town for another location.
While his visit lasted, other residents went about their businesses, not showing enthusiasm about the president’s visit.
In his entourage were many Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Southwest including Chief Gbenga Daniel, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, Musiliu Obanikoro and the party’s governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sen. Teslim Folarin.
Mr President doesn’t have good people in his cabinet. I wonder what Obanikoro is doing with him.
