The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, in Oyo State, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela on Tuesday met with heads of Tertiary institutiins in the state.
At the meeting which held at the Conference room of the Ministry, Olowofela urged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to call off the ongoing strike to avoid sabotaging the education of affected pupils.
He also asked the heads of institutions to strive for industrial peace and harmony amongst academic, non-academic and student bodies in their various institutions.
While tasking them on the delivery of quality education in the state, the commissioner said:
“Graduate from our institutions must be agents of positive change in the society and this can only be achieved if they are empowered by employable skills which can be used in solving societal problems and uplifting human conditions”
The meeting had in attendance the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Aderonke Makanjuola, the Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH), who was represented by his Deputy, Professor Timothy Adebayo, Rectors and Provosts of tertiary institutions and the Directors of the Ministries.
