The All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo State has suspended all political activities in the state for the next two weeks, in line with the state government’s directives on gatherings in order to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state.
A statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde said the suspension is subject to review after the expiration of the two weeks.
The statement reads: The State Working Committee of our Party, APC, under the chairmanship of Chief Akin Oke, met today, Tuesday, 24th March, 2020 to review the state of our Country, as regards the issues of COVID-19, the global pandemic that is rampaging the whole world and as thus decided to suspend all political activities at the state, the 33 LG areas and all the wards throughout Oyo State, from Wednesday, 25th March, 2020, for initial two weeks.
“This is subject to review after the expiration of the two weeks, hoping and praying that the COVID-19 scourge would have been overcome before then to allow for resumption of our regular day-to-day activities.
“Please note that all our party offices are to be shut down with all manners of meetings suspended.”
