The acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Uche Secondus has been ordered to vacate office with immediate effect.
The order came from Justice Hussein Baba who ruled on Tuesday at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
The court in its ruling on the suit filed by former special adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on political matters, Ahmed Gulak, said Chief Uche Secondus is occupying the position of the acting national chairman of the party illegally.
PDP Lawyer, Mr. Paul Isaiah, said the party will appeal the judgement of the court, adding that a stay of execution of the judgement will also be filed.
He said, “We are going to appeal this judgement. Apart from the appeal, we are also going to file a stay of execution of the judgement because the National Convention of the party is in March next year”.
Justice Hussein Baba in his judgement ruled that the position of the acting national chairman of the party is zoned to the North East and, therefore, cannot be occupied by Chief Uche Secondus.
