Following the confirmation of 31 new COVID-19 cases in Oyo State, which raised the total number of infections in the state to 107, 3 reports that the number of active cases in the state stands at 77.
According to a data obtained on the Nigeria Center for Disease (NCDC) website, the state has discharged 28 patients who have recovered from the virus and also recorded two deaths.The data shows that the state has 26.2 percent recovery rate as at 8pm on Saturday.
The state recorded its first COVID-19 case on March 22 and since then, the number of infections has continued to grow.
The development made Governor Seyi Makinde to launch the drive-through/walk-through testing centre, which was expected to test 2,000 samples within two weeks. He said the rapid testing initiative aligned with his administration’s commitment to test at least 10,000 residents within a short time.
