Reality star Kim Kardashian met with US President Donald Trump to discuss prison reforms.

The meeting took place in the White House after which Trump shared a photo of them together he wrote:

“Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing.”

  • 16 states sue Trump for declaring emergency on Mexico border President Donald J Trump signs an EO on Iran Sanctions in the Green Room at Trump National Golf Club Sunday August 5 2018 in Bedminster Township New Jersey Official White House Photo by Shealah Craighead Sixteen states in the United States of America sued President Donald Trump s administration on Monday over his decision to declare a national emergency to fund a wall on the southern border with Mexico saying the move violated the constitution Trump declared the emergency on Friday in order to bypass Congress which approved only a quarter of the 5 6 billion he wanted for the wall in a spending bill The states in the suit seeking injunction against the president are Carlifornia Colorado Connecticut Delaware Hawaii Illinois Maine Maryland Michigan Minnesota Nevada New Jersey New Mexico New York Oregon and Virginia The lawsuit filed in a federal court in California said the president s order was contrary to the constitution s presentment and appropriation clauses which outline legislative procedures and define Congress as the final arbiter of public funds The move had already been announced by Xavier Becerra the Attorney General of California who said on Sunday that his state and others had legal standing to challenge the president because they risked losing monies intended for military projects disaster assistance and other purposes Many people including senators from Trump s Republican party have criticised the president s action and warned that he has opened the door for future presidents to call on the act whenever they fail to get their way with Congress If the states prevail the case could go all the way to the Supreme Court The states said they bring this action to protect their residents natural resources and economic interests from President Donald J Trump s flagrant disregard of fundamental separation of powers principles engrained in the United States Constitution The suit said Trump had veered the country toward a constitutional crisis of his own making usa donaldtrump Continue in the comment section below
