Young upcoming artists, comedians, dancers including the physically challenged, some as young as eight, took Ibadan by storm on Easter Monday.
The event was the fourth edition of Easter Fiesta, a talent hunt show sponsored by the Oladehinde Olaniyi Foundation and organised by CEO Africa and other media partners.
Present at the highly charged event at Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan, were the House of Representatives member representing Lagelu and Akinyele Constituency in Oyo State, Honourable Olatoye Temitope Sugar; the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola and ofher dignitaries. Guest artistes include Damola Dipe, Goke Bajowa, and other artistes.
The winners went home with a total of N1 million naira.
Chrysolite, a sensational dance group of kids in primary and secondary schools came first and went home with N500,000. Second place, Exodus, a group of two dancers went home went N300,000 and a singer, Daniel Oladayo got N200,000.
The event was however not just about music and dance. During one of the interludes, Chrisland Univerity VC, Prof. Babalola, advised the large crowd of young people against drug abuse, while the sponsor, Olaniyi, urged young people not to hide their talents but to use them for good. He also urged the winners to make good use of their money.
Hon. Sugar, in his own speech, urged the young people to be guided by the biblicL pronciples of love. He also urged thise who have turned 18 to get their permanent voters card (PVC) and be part of the electoral process.
