The Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC),on Wednesday arrested a 33-year-old landlord, Stanley Ejike Awam, for allegedly habouring suspected internet fraudsters.
Awam and the 12 other suspects were picked up at different locations of Ibadan metropolis, following intelligence reports on their alleged illegal activities.
For the operatives of the commission who carried out the arrest, it was a herculean task locating Awam’s property located in an isolated area around Ologuneru in Eleyele.
The nine suspects arrested with Awam at the premises are Henry Echefu; Usman Mustapha; Adeleke David; Olafuyi Josiah; Shorefire Ayokunmi; Riliwan Ajao; Abulsalam Abubakar and Lukman Salam.
Also, the commission’s operatives arrested two other suspected internet fraudsters – Adeyemo Muktarh and Bashir Mohammed.
The duo were picked up at Eleyele and Old Bodija area of the ancient city.
Further investigations on the suspects are still ongoing. Those found guilty would be charged to court as soon as possible.
Items recovered from suspects include three cars, laptops, mobile phones and land documents.
