The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON ),Oyo State Chapter, has felicitated with Muslim Ummah in the state and Nigeria, on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el Fitr celebration, calling on Muslim faithful to reflect on the lessons learnt during the Ramadan period and on the significance of fasting as a religious obligation.
In a statement issued by its chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, on Thursday, ALGON urged Muslim faithful to allow the true meaning of Ramadan reflects deep in their lives and on the positive impact it will make on the lives of others.
It stressed that without the virtues of brotherly love, accommodation and sacrificial giving, religion would make no meaning and peace would be elusive in the society.
While wishing all Muslims a Happy Eid-el Fitr celebration, the chairman enjoined Muslims and non-Muslims to transcend the exemplary deeds exhibited during the fasting period.
“Faithful are further enjoined to fervently pray for the end of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic and insecurity holding the nation to ransom and for sustainable peace and development of Nigeria,” the statement said.
The chairman prayed for joy and peace to all and a feel of God’s abundant blessings of love, forgiveness, and goodwill.
