Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has urged Nigerians to live lives of self-sacrifice, stating that in other to achieve anything they must be willing to sacrifice.
The governor spoke shortly after observing his prayer at Eid praying ground, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
His words:”Ibrahim sacrifice and he was also ready to sacrifice his son and God saw his willingness to sacrifice, so Allah saved his son and for that God loved him. In other to develop our state and country, we must be willing to sacrifice. We should not be self-centered but should always be so sacrifice for humanity because the greatest form of Godliness is service to humanity,service is sacrifice”.
Also in his remark, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdul-Ganiy Abubakari Agbotomokekere urged Muslims to be modest in celebration and constantly reflect on the lessons of the festival like patience, clean heart, purity and submission to the will of Allah.
Sheik Agbotomokekere felicitated with pilgrims to this year’s hajj on the successful completion.
He expressed his heart felt condolences to the families of the martyrs of the September 11th incident in the ground mosque at Mecca.
The Muslim cleric prayed that Allah will grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and admit the victims into Aljannah-Firdaos.
The Chief Iman called on youths to be patient with the Federal Government as it unfold it’s empowerment agenda and job creation initiatives.
