As Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, the immediate past ALGON Chairman in Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye (MDII), urged the Muslim community to pray for the unity and peace of the nation.
In a congratulatory message he personally signed on Friday, Abass-Aleshinloye called on the Muslim faithful to use the Eid-el-Fitri celebration to re-dedicate themselves to peace, unity and friendship.
He called on Islamic religious leaders to lead their followers properly so that they do not depart from the truth, stressing that Nigeria is passing through difficult times, especially in the area of security.,
The ex-ALGON chairman said the current security situation in the country is something all men and women of goodwill should rise up to tackle.
He all urged all and sundry to cooperate with government in the task of ensuring peace and unity.
“We all have a stake in Project Nigeria. We must shun divisive tendencies and come together against all forces of darkness that seem to be dragging us back.
“We have come a long way. We cannot at this stage toil with the future of our nation. We desire peace. We need to make progress,” he said.
He prayed that Allah accepts all the supplications, sacrifices and other good deeds of the Islamic faithful and accept it as an act of Ibadah.
He also prayed that Allah intervene in the affairs of the country wished everyone a happy Ei-el-Fitri celebration.
