Eight All Progressives Congress(APC) lawmakers have defected to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State.
The lawmakers include five members of the federal legislature and three members from the state legislature.
According to reports, the processes adopted in conducting congresses in the state by the APC resulted in the mass exodus from the party, with members allegedly disenchanted.
Those that defected include lawmakers representing Kebbi Central Senatorial District, Adamu Aliero, Kebbi North Senatorial District, Yahaya Abdullahi; House of Representatives members representing Aliero/Jega/Gwandu and Dandi/Arewa federal constituencies, Mohammed Jega and Abdullahi Zumbo.
In the state assembly, Habibu Labbo, Ismaila Biu, and Mohammed Aliero, representing Gwandu, Arewa, and Aliero constituencies, also renounced their membership of the APC.
Organising Secretary of the PDP in Kebbi State, Usaini Raha, confirmed the defection of the lawmakers to the party in a statement.
