The Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.
This follows reports of fresh violence in Kasuwan Mangani area of the local government. Three persons were reportedly killed in the attack.
In reaction to this latest upheaval, the Kaduna state government has announced the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on Kajuru local government area of the state.
Spokesman to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Samuel Aruwan, announced the curfew on social media, saying: “Following events in Kasuwan Magani, the dusk to dawn curfew that has been in place in Kajuru LGA had been extended to 24-hours in the entire local government area. The 24-hour curfew in the entire Kajuru LGA is with immediate effect, and will be enforced until further notice.”
In the past few months, scores of people have been killed in Kajuru and other parts of Southern Kaduna where attacks and retaliatory attacks with ethnic and religious colorations, have rocked the various communities.
