The ongoing presidential and national assembly elections in Igbeti, Olorunsogo Local Government Area of Oyo State witnessed impressive voter turnout as electorate trooped out en masse to perform their civic responsibilities.
In some of the polling units visited by Newspeakonline, electorate were seen on long queue waiting to vote despite the hot weather being experienced in the area.
A domestic electoral observer, Mr. Jare Ajayi, said he has been monitoring election for a number of years, stressing that the exercise has been an impressive one.
He said all the wards he had visited were peaceful and the reports coming from his colleagues are all positive.
He lauded the conduct of the officials of Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agents for maintaining orderliness in the area.
Also, a former member of the House of Reprsentatives, Hon. Bosun Oladele, said the turn out was a good record for his ward, adding that regardless of the harsh weather the electorate were patiently waiting to perform their franchise.
