The House of Representatives has asked the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to forward the names of officers who died during the recent #EndSARS protests to the House.
Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs, Bello Kumo, told the IGP to send the list when he appeared before the lawmakers on Tuesday to defend the 2021 budget of the Nigeria Police Force.
The chairman also asked the IGP to include the list of police stations burnt or destroyed during the protest.
According to Kumo, “the budgetary allocation would be made to compensate the slain policemen and repair the damaged or burnt stations.”
Kumo told the police boss that the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila; Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase, and the leadership of the House mandated him to convey the instruction to him (Adamu).
