A former employee of gay dating site, Grindr, has accused the company’s human resource supervisor of drugging and raping him at the company’s 2016 Christmas party. The ex-employee has dragged the site to court.
The former employee, named as John Doe in court papers, said the HR boss, Daniel Cabaner, drugged him, put him in a car and took him to a hotel room where he anally penetrated him.
John Doe said he woke up and Cabanero was holding him down on the bed in the middle of the sexual act. He said he lost consciousness again and when he regained it he immediately went to the E.R. where he was “subjected to a highly invasive and humiliating rape examination”.
He said he reported to law enforcement which he believes is still investigating the incident.
John Doe also accused other Grindr officers of being aware of his impaired state at the party and not attempting to help him.
He also said that the company encouraged the use of sexually explicit language, sexual misconduct and sexual innuendos.
Grindr is yet to comment on the allegations.
