Former Secetrary to Oyo State Government (SSG), Barr. Sharafadeen Alli, has been declared the winner of Oyo South senatorial election.

Alli, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate polled 111,513 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Mogaji Olasunkanmi Tegbe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 92,481 votes.

Announcing the result at Ikolaba High School, Ibadan, the returning officer for the senatorial district, Prof. Wole Olatokun of the University of Ibadan (UI), said Alli scored the highest number of valid votes in the election.

Alli was a former Chief of Staff to former Governor Rashidi Ladoja and ex-Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government.
