Baring last-minute changes, international flights will resume in the United States (US) by September, 2020.
The country closed its skies to international flights in March to contain the spread of COVID-19. It is the worst hit by the pandemic going by the number of infections and deaths.
As at Wednesday evening, the US has recorded 5,515,775 COVID-19 cases with 172,640 deaths.
A very reliable source within the US aviation industry confirmed to Newspeakonline on Wednesday that the government has reached an agreement with industry stakeholders to resume international flights in September.
The country is expected to announce official resumption of international flight by end of August.
Nigeria has announced that international flights will resume in the country on August 29. Other countries are expected to follow suit in coming days.
