The sleepy community of Iwoye-Yewa in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State was thrown into grief and fear last week when a farmer shot two members of the community to death and threatened to kill those who tried to find him.
The two victims shot by the farmer identified as Oladosu Nureni are Olatunji Ayinla and Ajayi Onifade who was the Amuludun of Iwoye land. They were shot at different locations.
While Onifade was shot on his way to the farm. Ayinla was shot as the community organised a manhunt for the shooter, Ayinla was part of the search party.
It was learnt that Onifade did not die on the spot; he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta for treatment but died last Friday.
The eldest child of Ajayi Onifade, Seyi, told reporters that the case has been reported at the Ilaro Divisional Police Headquarters, Ilaro. He called formthe speedy apprehension of the alleged shooter who had reportedly threatened to kill anyone who came looking for him.
