Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has sent his warm felicitations to former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku and Nigeria’s one-time External Affairs Minister, Professor Ibrahim Gambari on their 73rd and 75th birthday anniversaries respectively.
In his message of felicitation, signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications, Segun Dipe, Governor Fayemi, who is the Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), noted that the two leaders had contributed immensely to the growth of our great country, Nigeria and their legacies of service could not be ignored by anyone.
According to him, both Atiku and Gambari pass for statesmen, having made rare sacrifices in ensuring that Nigeria’s name is indelible on the world map. “They came, they saw, and they have conquered in their respective vocations.”
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar served as the 11th Vice-President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 under the presidency of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Prof. Ibrahim Gambari on the other hand was the Minister for External Affairs between 1984 and 1985 and Nigeria’s special envoy to United Nations.
Fayemi said he had decided to seize the opportunity of the birthday celebration of the two eminent Nigerians to recognize them, extol their virtues, acknowledge their hard work and appreciate their contributions to the political stability of the country.
“I wish you the best of everything because you deserve it, today and always. May you have many more wonderful days ahead of you. Congratulations and have a memorable birthday celebration,” the governor said.
