The British Library in London will have a live tribute to afrobeat legend Fela Kuti later today starting from 9pm Nigerian time.
The event tagged ‘Late at the Library: #Felabration!’, will be broadcast live on the websites fela.net and okayafrica.com.
According to the BBC, musicians who worked with him, like keyboard player Dele Sosimi and drummer Tony Allen, will be joined by many other top artists from Africa and beyond, including 2Face Idibia, Laura Mvula, Shingai Shoniwa, Afrikan Boy, Bumi Thomas, Terri Walker, Audrey Gbaguidi, The Floacist and Ed Keazor.
Felabration marks the opening of the British Library’s exhibition West Africa: Word, Symbol, Song which runs until 16 February 2016.
