The Federal Government (FG) has reacted to the arrest of two Nigerian artistes in Uganda.
The singers-Omah Lay and Tems were arrested by the Uganda Police Force for flouting COVID-19 guidelines. They were arrested after their performances at The Big Brunch, which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda, and have since been remanded in prison.
Speaking through the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the FG said the Nigerian mission in Uganda is doing everything possible to ensure the artistes regain their freedom.
She disclosed that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has also been on the matter, adding that the Nigerian government is in touch with their lawyers.
